Our Story
EcoPlant Explorer is a web-based educational platform designed to help visitors discover and learn about plant species found in Nyandungu Eco-Park, Kigali. It provides information about the ecological, medicinal, and cultural importance of plants through an easy-to-use and interactive interface.
Its goal is to promote environmental education, biodiversity conservation, and eco-tourism while making plant knowledge accessible to students, researchers, tourists, and the general public.
Founded in 2005, Nyandungu Eco-Park transformed hundreds of hectares of degraded industrial wasteland into a thriving biodiverse paradise — a self-sustaining urban sanctuary in the heart of Kigali, Rwanda.
